Founded in 1931 in New York by Herbert Bienen and Edwin Davis, Bienen-Davis was an eminent maker of fine leather handbags in an era when glamour and attention to detail were paramount. Bienen-Davis flawlessly merged American design with Italian craftsmanship and soon found their bags on the sets of movies and television shows, worn by some of Hollywood’s most iconic celebrities, and even included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection.
The new Bienen-Davis is the creation of Richard K. Bienen, the fourth generation scion of the Bienen family. Having been raised in the business with his father, Richard H. Bienen, and influenced by his mother, Pat Mori’s, design spirit as she worked alongside famed designer Roy Halston, Bienen was inspired to re-establish the renowned namesake brand for a new generation. Working with the same Italian artisans responsible for the past collections, Bienen-Davis is dedicated to updating a timeless luxury product and bringing back the elegance of a bygone era.
